Psalm 136 is a call to thankfulness.
A call to to express our thankfulness to God.
What are you thankful for?
What is it about the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, His nature, character, plans and purposes that you are thankful for?
We are to be thankful for our creator God who’s love endures for ever.
In His own wisdom God made the heavens and the earth. He created the sun and moon to illuminate the heavens. He is creator God. His love endures forever.
We are to be thankful for our provider and protector God who’s love endures for ever.
God is the deliverer of Israel. We hear of His consistent and continued pattern of love to the people of Israel. He brought them out Israel. In power, parted the Red Sea. Led his people through the wilderness. The great kings fell before Him. The promised land was given.
God is the deliverer of Israel and the provider and protector of all things living. He redeems. He provides. He is the God of heaven. His love endures for ever.

What do you want to thank God for. What is it about the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, His nature, character, plans and purposes that you are thankful for?
The ultimate reflection of God’s character and nature, His purposes and plans, what we are ultimately thankful for, is Jesus Christ. We are to remember and declare our thankfulness for God’s provision.
His provision of a Saviour. God came and paid the price, took our place, overcame, conquered and defeated sin and death, so that we might be free to know God, to walk with God, to be what God created us to be - His children.
And our response? His love endures forever.
