Walking Down Empty Road

GOD'S MISSION IS OUR MISSION

Untitled design.png

God’s mission is about relationship repaired, people restored, and redemption made. He invites us not only to be recipients of that mission, but participants in it as well.

This series will grow our understanding and response to a mission that God initiates but also invites us to be a part of.

Individual and corporate responsibility to God’s mission.

GOD'S MISSION IS GOD'S STORY

The Bible is a story. The Story of how God loves his creation and comes to rescue them. It takes the whole Bible to tell this Story. A story that is centred around God’s presence and work in Jesus. A story that we are invited into firstly to respond to, and then to share with others.

GOD'S MISSION IS RELATIONAL

God draws us into a relationship with himself to then draw others into relationship with him. We are to have relationships that mirror the mission of God, that mirror the heart of God.

Mission is motivated by love, with an intentional and clear message, and we are God's messengers.

GOD'S MISSION IS RESTORATIVE

God’s mission is to restore everything and everyone. God’s mission is to bring order out of chaos, resolve conflict and restore relationships, and work for justice and just solutions in all situations.

As we are being restored and transformed through relationship with God. He is asking us to be part of the restorative work He is doing. We are conduits of God’s restorative grace in this world.

To be part of God’s restorative work in this world is to journey alongside people in the messiness of life, be part of restoring what is broken.

GOD'S MISSION IS RECONCILIATORY

The mission of God is to reconcile his creation. God’s initiative of reconciling, through Christ, sees people transformed into new creations.

God’s mission is about making disciples not converts. The invitation of the gospel is to be made new, and to do life in a new way. We are to be the messengers of God’s reconciliatory mission in Christ.
