Mark's gospel is fast-paced action story : Mark moves quickly through Jesus’ ministry, highlighting what Jesus does—His authority, miracles, and power over demons.
 

Mark's gospel is a story of two halves: Mark 1:1–8:30 focuses on who Jesus is, building toward Peter’s confession that Jesus is the Christ. From Mark 8:31 onward, the focus shifts toward where Jesus is going. He is heading toward Jerusalem and the cross.
 

Mark's gospel is a call to discipleship:  Jesus calls His followers to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him.
